August is THE crucial month! While the Senators and Congressmen are home in their districts, let’s give them a barrage of attacks on Obama’s proposals to deform our health system! Even as public opinion has turned against the plan, he still has sixty votes in the Senate and an ample margin in the House to pass it. Unless we unleash a FIRESTORM of public outrage, the bill will pass! And your own personal health care will never be the same.

It seems to me that the public or average citizen is speaking out against the health care reform and no one is listening not even our congressmen and women. It is scary we have no say in what is happening. America is changing and I don’t like it. I am a senior citizen who has worked all my life and now I am going to be excluded from various health procedures or care because of my age. I may be wrong but isn’t that discrimination.

My husband served his country for over 32 years. He was called to duty during the first Iraq war and then again after 9/11. He served in the Army during Viet Nam, was an employee with GSA as a federal protection officer, a US Marshall Deputy and then went on to retire as a Senior Chief in the Coast Guard reserve. I feel the obama administration is trying to punish the military and their families for the service they have committed to this once great country, and to the senior citizens. I am fed up with a governament who is trying to control my life, my childrens’s life as well as my precious granddaughter’s life with this so called change to our health care. America needs to wake up before they are startled into what we now call “humanistic, socialistic change”. They will be very surprised when they need to see the doctor and will be told, sorry you are too old, you have no more to offer our society. As I read the Bible, God is the only one who should have control over this.

I would like to make a contribution to the League of Voters’ ad regarding the Health Care Reform Bill. In looking at your web site did not discover an easy way to do so. Please inform me. I will then forward the information on to other friends. Thanks! Renee Bilgram

If there were another country that was half as good to live in as America, my husband and I would have moved there the day Obama was elected. We are both retired and we draw social security, retired military pay, are on Medicare with Tricare for Life as a supplement. The way this present government is going, we will lose all of it. I am 74 years old, my husband is 75 years old and we’re both in bad health. How are we going to live? I am sure we are not alone. It is so very important that we defeat the national healthcare fiasco and make Mr. Obama a one term President!

The proposed heath care program by Obama is a DEATH WISH for anyone over 70 years of age. What can we do to stop this program.

Can I run ads in the newspaper (the Boston Globe, the Boston Herald) opposing this plan and letting the public know that this is the worst plan for the American people. WE NEED TO STOP OBAMA or medical service will change for the worst. The president is out of control and the staff that he has appointed are people that really don’t like America or what we stand for.

This is in regard to “Cash for Junkers”. (how is this issue connected to the Health Care Issue???? Here is the reason it should be. Most of the customers who are turning in a Junker are also borrowing funds
to pay the difference. One of the ways to fix our health care system
is to require anyone who borrows funds to purchase a car, house, or large item to include in their debt schedule (repayment plan) what they
are paying for Health Insurance. If they do not have health insurance
they should not be borrowing funds for a car upgrade. A DSP of 30% or less should be requied including Car and Health Insurance.

We are both on medicare advantage. This health care plan is going to take this away from us. We want the goverment to leave our insurance alone. Why is AARP backing this goverment plan? We are on social security and this health care plan will be bad for us. If AARP is for this we will not renew our membership. Thank you Cody&Mary Faulks P.S. Let us know obout AARP’s involvement.

For your awareness……check out details yourself…..

In case you are wondering (and who isn’t?) what is in the proposed “Healthcare” bill now before Congress – and, if you’re like most in Congress and haven’t taken the time to read the over 1,000 pages of legalese boilerplate – here is a short summary of the first 500 pages, by writer and historian, Larry Schweikart.

Apparently, this list is not inclusive

Page 22: A mandate for the Government to audit the books of all employers that self insure.

Pg 30: A Government committee that will decide what treatments/benefits a person may receive.

Pg 42: The Health Choices Commissioner will choose your HC benefits for you. You will have no choice!

Pg 50: HC will be provided to ALL non-U.S. Citizens, illegal or otherwise.

Pg 58: Government will have real-time access to an individual’s finances and a National ID Healthcard will be issued!

Pg 59: Government will have direct access to your bank accounts.

Pg 65: Sec 164 is a payoff subsidized plan for retirees and their families in unions and community organizations like ACORN.

PG 85: The Government will ration your healthcare!

Pg 95: The Government will use groups — I.e., ACORN & Americorps — to sign up individuals for a Government HC plan.

Pg 85: Specifics of Benefit Levels for AARP members — your health care WILL be rationed.

Pg 124: No company can sue the Government on price fixing and there can be no “judicial review” against Government monopoly.

Pg 145: An employer MUST auto-enroll employees into a public option plan. NO CHOICE.

Pg 126: Employers MUST pay for healthcare for part-time employees AND their families.

Pg 149: ANY Employer with payroll $400k & above who does not provide a public option pays 8 percent tax on all payroll.

Pg 150: Businesses with payroll between $251k & $400k that don’t provide a public option pay 2-6 percent tax on all payroll.

Pg 167 ANY individual who doesn’t have acceptable HC according to the Government will be taxed 2.5 percent of income.

Pg 170: Any NONRESIDENT alien is exempt from individual taxes. (Americans will pay).

Pg 195: Officers & employees of the Healthcare Administration (the GOVERNMENT) will have access to ALL Americans’ finances and personal records.

Pg 203: “The tax imposed under this section shall not be treated as tax.” Yes, it says that.

Pg 239: Government will reduce physician services for Medicaid. Seniors, low income, and the poor will be affected.

Pg 241: Doctors — doesn’t matter what specialty — will all be paid the same.

PG 253: Government sets value of doctor’s time, professional judgment, etc. — literally, the value of humans.

PG 272: TREATMENT OF CERTAIN CANCER HOSPITALS — Cancer patients, welcome to rationing!

Pg 317-318: Government will mandate that hospitals cannot expand.

Pg 354: Government will RESTRICT enrollment of special needs people!

PG 425: Government will mandate Advance Care Planning Consultations for seniors… End-of-life prodding.

Pg 425: Government will instruct & consult regarding living wills, durable powers of attorney. Mandatory!

PG 425: Government will provide an approved list of end-of-life resources, guiding you in how to die.

PG 429: “Advanced care consultation” may include an ORDER for end of life plans. AN ORDER from the Government to end a life!

PG 430: The Government will decide what level of treatment you will have at end of life.

Pg 469: Community-Based Home Medical Services/Non-profit orgs. (ACORN Medical Services here?)

Pg 494-498: Government will cover Mental Health Services including defining, creating, and rationing those services

Here’s a (partial)? solution to the Social Security bankruptcy problem. (Of course!! I know no one will take this seriously but I’d like an answer as to why not!) So far, ojnly 16% of the “stimulus” money has been spent. Much more is planned to be spent on wasteful pet projects (pork). I say to we should repay Social Security. The Washington thugs stole us broke and now they say, “Oh well! S S is bankrupt. Let’s just wash it off the books!” I paid into SS since 1964. That is not a give-away program like the Dems like so much. That was money we stashed into savings from which we could receive retirement income. I’m now 68 and still working. I’m scared to quit, esp. with our financial future in the hands of the thugs we have in the White House and congress now. Also, I’ve paid into M’care since it was born. I don’t want to lose it. What can we do??

My husband and I are extremely opposed to the Health”care” Bill in it’s various forms. We want no government interference. Social Security and Medicare are NOT socialistic programs. WE funded them as forms of insurance and now we expect to be able to collect as was promised before the thugs began stealing from us. Unused remaining “stimulus” money should refund SS and M’Care. Also, another major reason for not wanting Obama’s and Pelosi’s health”care” plan is that it will use our money to fund abortions. That absolutely must not happen! They act like we’re treating them terribly because we object! Who’s being mistreated in this situation?? Under no circumstance do we agree to allow our money to fund abortions!! We also do not agree to allow the government to use our money to assist illegal aliens in any way except to send them out of this country!! It can be done!!

In regards to AARP’s involvement I suggest look up the political record of its new Chief Exec. Officer Mr.Rand and you will know he and the organization no longer speaks for its members ( seniors ) in Washington but does speak to Obamanation plans for this country. I quite my memgershipe last year when it became obvious in AARP’s monthly magazine where their political sympathies were and I do not appreciate this organization speaking for me if I do not agree with the policies/plans of this administration. The policy makers do not have an ear for what a majority of its elderly citizens regard as in our best interest and for our America. While I do understand there is a need for some reform of our healthcare system I do not subscribe to the notion of such radical changes whereby the quality of care and choice is compromised. How is it possible that the very people who are pushing this plan will not be subject to its limitations and would not elect to choose the very plans they have decided is good enough for the general public. Where is the conscience of these law makers we have elected to represent us? somewhere down the line the same politicans and their families will also be affected by a radical government.Shame on both sides of isle for puting their careers, lofty self centered ambitions before the welfare of its CITIZENS.

Mr. Morris, I too am a senior citizen, a conservative and follow all talk radio shows and Fox News as well.I have recently purchased your latest book, Catastrophe. Please, e-mail me the phone numbers of the red dog democrats so that I can call them all on a regular basis to remind them of the great importance to say no to the National Healthcare Bill. I have been calling the Senators of Illinois, namely Durbin and Burris. I also call Washington DC on a regular basis as well.I believe that you said the red dog democrats were listed but could not locate them. Please e-mail me that list and any others that you feel would make the most impact. It would be greatly appreciated since as you know time is more precious than ever. Thank you and may God bless you and yours for your dedication to this, unquestionably, the greatest country in the world. Sincerely, Mel Siegel

All the right does is bash , bash and bash. If you had no health plan for you and family , i guess you would be talking out the otherside of your mouth. Its nice to talk but saying nothing. Just like all the right, the haters, and bigots who care nothing of the poor. But i think we will have health care without your big mouth and garbage you are talking about. All the right does is bash, lie and make up more lies. When will the right care for the poor. We had 8 years of lies and a white house full of crooks who lied to the american people and got us into a war which killed over 4000 americans.
Bigot beck, hannity, oreilly and rest of the idiotrs who just lie to the people. But i remeber when the right hated and made up lies about Dr. King. Is that when the southern dems. turned to the republicans. Republicans have always been bigots and speak hatred. But like Dr. King, evil always die and when the people are right they will survive.. Now im watching another idiot KATY ABRAM.

Three ways to reform US health care without going broke:
    1) 5% Consumer tax to replenish Social Security, VA & Medicaid ONLY, money for those programs only which will make them whole.

    2) Three year limit on pharmacy drug patents (any over 10yrs @this time should be null and void allowing generic products and reducing cost by 70% there)

    3) Each state should be allowed to have all insurance companies form a “pool” as with high risk drivers, that would allow them to provide coverge for the 8-14 million unemployed who have cobra or no insurance at all, the pool insurance coverages could also be provided to non citizens of the US at the same price offerred to those unfortunately out of work at this time. INSURANCE COMPANIES DO HAVE TO HAVE A RESERVE, THEY CAN’T PRINT $ LIKE OBAMA and are much more reputable.

This is not rocket science stuff, insurance companies have the actuaries who can pencil whip the numbers and find a low cost product which will provide coverage and ALLOW THOSE 19-30 YEAR OLDS (who the govt is dying to get their $$) the opportunity NOT TO BUY insurance if they don’t choose to!

Let’s make Medicare, Veterans Insurance, and medicaid whole, reduce prescription cost over half and keep our country from going bankrupt.

    Thank you,
    Las Vegas, Nevada
